This exhibition was developed in collaboration with Lovisa Sandlung as a conceptual exploration of intimacy and the emotional state of “almost” reaching — a phrase that also became the exhibition’s title. The work presented a series of photographs created specifically for this context and displayed within a constructed environment resembling a domestic living room. This setting invited visitors to metaphorically “sit down” and engage in a quiet, personal reflection, echoing the atmosphere of a deep, private conversation.
The vernissage was conceived as an extension of the exhibition’s intimate framework. Designed to feel like a shared dinner among friends, the evening included live music and live cooking, further reinforcing the sense of closeness and informality while engaging with the artworks. For the finissage, I collaborated with a team of freelance filmmakers to document the dismantling of the exhibition. This act of deinstallation became a final performative gesture, capturing the transient nature of both the space and the emotional themes explored throughout the show.
"Fabi, a German photographer who also works in Public Relations. After a year break from her work as a photographer, she used the Prisma residency to find a new path and excitement for her own art. With a repertoire in photography of people and concerts, she has followed a more personal path in recent weeks. The photos shifted from an observational and documentary style to a constructed, realistic one in order to express her thoughts.
The exhibition displays a collection of photos whose representation captures the feeling of being constantly on the verge, close to feeling and reaching something. Fabi wants the photos to carry the weight and sweetness she feels in these moments." - Prisma Estudio
